Queja de uno del club

No compré todavía “57th & 9th”. Estoy algo desilusionado. ¡Y a mí me habían gustado justamente esas últimas! Eran “Symphonicities”, “If on a winter’s night…” y “The last ship”.

Mencionando un viejo disco dice: “The Soul Cages was my attempt at elegy, the least loved, least understood of all my recorded efforts, but despite that cold reception, it did establish a select and loyal constituency of listeners who I only half-jokingly refer to as 'the recently bereaved' or similarly haunted. Not the most cheerful club, it must be admitted, but a thoughtful bunch nonetheless”.

"Not the most cheerful club, it must be admitted, but a thoughtful bunch nonetheless" no me suena a desdén sino más bien a defensa.

¿Y si thoughtful no fuera pensantes sino otra cosa?

En qué otro sentido estás pensando?

Thoughtful \Thought"ful\, a.
1. Full of thought; employed in meditation; contemplative;
as, a man of thoughtful mind.
2. Attentive; careful; exercising the judgment; having the
mind directed to an object; as, thoughtful of gain;
thoughtful in seeking truth. --Glanvill.
3. Anxious; solicitous; concerned.

Ejemplos:

That rule must be admitted ; but it hardly applies to the present case

The distinction between warranties and representations must be admitted, but the contract in this case resembles the latter rather than the former.
